The Work of Anna Canfield

Printer Error. Available for purchase, $60, $125,$528. Prints (9x12, 18x24) or original (8x11).

What I like the most about all of Canfield’s work is it narrows my scope, bringing me into the smallest singular moment. Appreciating light and texture. Much of her work centers on food and drink. These moments that we carve out — a dinner with friends, a date night — but then move through too quickly, lose focus. I like that her work brings us back into focus. What are the tiny moments we can capture? What details can I gather to clarify my memory of this moment, right now?

Ferragosto. Prints available to purchase, $60 & $125, 9x12 & 18x24

About her work Canfield says, “Guided by instinct, I capture real moments in time, translating them into art that resonates with intimate and personal experiences.

The themes that inspire me come from daily actions that are foundational to being human; we nourish, we contemplate, we come together.

I operate out of my home studio in a small town outside of Spokane, Washington. The vast region of the Columbia Basin gives me space to catalog my observations, to play, and to reconnect with the basics of life and land.”

Port Night. Original available for purchase, custom frame included, $1000, 11x14

If these pieces resonate with you, if you’ve contemplated how to add to your collection, I urge you to trust your instinct here, and get yourself some art. These pieces are small, they are affordable, to me that’s an easy choice.
