Want your home to look expensive?

Focus on the art.

Art is such powerful way to turn your home into a luxury interior. Let me explain.

Art is not only highly esthetically pleasing (even if your guests or followers don’t resonate with the pieces you’ve selected), but when done right, it is also really personalized.

What demonstrates luxury more than something customized to you as an individual? IMO nothing.

Think about it. When you have someone in your home, or you post on social a photo of your interior space, people want to know the story of your things. They want to know where you got the couch, they want to know what candle sticks you’re burning. Boring, but I guess informative.

When someone asks you where you got a piece of art and you’re able to tell them who the artist is (ie, the answer is not Target or some other big box store that makes you sound basic… sorry), and can also tell them a thing or two that you love about the piece or about the artists work, you not only create a story for them to connect to, but you’re also then seen as someone with connections, as someone in-the-know, as someone tied to the art scene.

The art scene remains illusive.

For better or for worse. I mean mostly for worse, people don’t understand how to access it. But! It’s an opportunity to capitalize on being really in the know.

When you focus on art, your house proves you know how to access that. When it’s esthetically gorgeous, when it amplifies who you are and what you believe in, it’s going to look highly tailored.

This is what the design industry is missing. And it’s a pretty key component to a truly luxury interior design.

Art is a signifier. It says you are cultured. It says you are interesting. It says you are in the know. All of that signifies luxury. Embarrassingly simple? Yes. Effective none-the-less.
